Imagine: I’m a wanderer searching for signs. I haven’t found it YET. I haven’t done it YET. My breakthrough hasn’t come YET. And I’m a bit concerned, disheartened, uncertain. But as far as I know, God has never left me on such a terrifying ending. The endings have always been a bit more peaceful. The situation has allowed itself to be accepted. So it is either me or my situation that has to change.

“YET” is an honest song and to me presents much of humility. It’s a way to stop the ungodly pressures of the world and to focus on God. It’s really a conversation between man and God, and although we believe that God isn’t going to give up on us (Prodigal Son story, of course), it’s still so reassuring to be saying those words to let God know how much we value His care for our lives. We could think about how the whole world in all its worldly perfection staring at us, saying that God doesn’t belong and that we who depend on God don’t measure up. In life, we face many worldly standards and demands, but this song points to the idea that the relationship with God is what matters most. So we ignore the world and carry on, paying attention to God’s story.

I’m not there yet, don’t give up on me… deepest sorrow and deepest joy. The older things were about to pass away, but God is still to come first. How do we keep God first? That’s a good question. How about we keep everything else second? Let’s remind ourselves of how life starts and where we come from. We’re didn’t get to this day without any effort, love, and care. Throughout all of our lives, God’s guiding truth has pushed us forward. We trust that through whatever we face in life, God is putting us toward an achieving process of growing in faith, truth, trust, and wisdom. This story’s not over yet, and God won’t give up on us as we still continue in a time of growth.
